To the Bride and Groom,
Congratulations on your engagement! Planning a wedding is an exciting time in your life. One of the many important decisions that you will have to make is what kind of photographer you want to document your wedding day. There are many different styles of wedding photography. Here is a little bit about my personal approach.
When I am photographing a wedding, it is almost like I am on a treasure hunt. All of these great moments are going to happen and it is my job to capture them with my camera – to find the treasure so to speak. I feel that watching events unfold naturally, and attempting to capture what Cartier-Bresson called “the decisive moment”, results in much more meaningful images. I enjoy spending time getting to know a couple before their wedding day. The better I understand a couple, and what they are looking for from their images, the better the images will be.
I believe that all couples should have a high quality album of their wedding pictures. I know of so many people who hired a photographer, got their proof book, and then never ordered an album. Because of this, I include a wedding album, as well as a press printed book, with every package. What’s the point in having a photographer if you don’t get an album? A wedding album is the best way to preserve your wedding memories. I have researched various printing companies to bring you the best quality product for a reasonable price.
Finally, I believe that couples should be able to make copies of their photographs for their friends and family. This is YOUR wedding; you should be able to share YOUR photos. This is why I include a DVD of your wedding images for your personal use. With all of these services you will be able to make your wedding memories last a lifetime.
Sincerely,
Jennie Merkel
